Ok, so we have Exhibit A, a new site, and Exhibit B an archive of stuff. But where’s the shop bit? Well it’s coming. Maybe not in 10 mins, but it is, I just wanted to get the site up first. And next I’m going to give some items away. Because I like doing that a whole lot. But whilst I am in the thick of designing, I *may* be open to the odd product request. Drop me a line, say hiyee…
Actually I just reread this and realised that ‘coming soon’ is like a total website cliche. Sorry about that. So what I am saying is if there was product here before that you missed out on, drop me a mail and I’ll check and see if we have any left here in stock. Or if you want the mail for when we re-open join the mailing list to the right —>
Tis all. x

After Ethel and I shot the image for the Addict colab last year, we (that’s me, Ethel and Eloise from Addict) were asked to contribute to a forthcoming book on Street Art by Ric Blackshaw and Liz Farrelly. It’s good to be invited to contribute, even though I wouldn’t say this co-lab was specifically related to street art as such. I’m a big fan of Liz’s books and who would knock a chance to talk about work? So, I got my copy through a while back and just got around to posting – now that the site has stopped impersonating a yoyo. Click below to read the accompanying short interview…

Oh hai guys, where was I? Oh yes, brand new NBFG action. As this feels like a new chapter I’m going to have a little recap, for those of you that may have missed earlier stuff. I started NBFG back in 2006, when I was a self-employed designer with a love for typography, photography, rare rapology, garms and snazzy trainers. Yeah I’m gonna call them trainers, but you might call them ’sneakers’, ‘kicks’ or ‘creps’. I like ‘trainers’ though, it makes me think of that first pair of unbranded navy-blue Woolies pumps glamorously offset with a fluorescent sock, and anyway it’s more true to my roots. Actually ‘pumps’ is a good word too, but I digress.

What I am saying is I would have been a dime a dozen had I been a chap, but back then I was a rarity; a nerdy-bird and it felt gooood. Which is why I started describing myself as ‘Not Bad For a Girl’ in the first place. 50% tongue in cheek and 50% provocation. I blame my older brother for everything of course. Ha! Nowadays I am still a designer, but also a maker and a doer. And NBFG is more about other things too like creative collaborations; discovering new ideas and themes; making quality limited edition products and less about grinding any axes. Well, maybe just occasionally.

Here have a cushion. Man, this has been major loooong. Had a bit of a set back at the beginning of the year, which was enough to knock everything out of kilter, for like 6 months. Not cool. It’s practically impossible to spin plates and juggle at the same time, if you get what I’m saying. It’s just not going to happen is it? And as the people who know me know, I can’t half-do things. So sometimes it’s just better to stop, put everything down and pick it up again later. Like now. But enough metaphoric babble, here we are, brand new NBFG action, starting from scratch. I missed you guys. So, are you sitting comfortably? Then we’ll begin…
